30th birthday beach dinner Castaways was great!!! They accommodated our party of 11 with no problem! Food and shots were great! After we had our private beach dinner one night, we went back two more times on our trip! Micheal was a great communicator with booking, and the waitresses and bartenders were great and fun to be around! I would for sure return! I great hidden gem!

Wow, just amazing. Food, atmosphere, service, and attention We, unfortunately found out about this amazing restaurant too late in our trip to enjoy it more than once. If we had found this early on, we would have eaten here at least once a day. The beach is 15-20 feet from the tables, and bar. Just overall feels like something out of a movie, or postcard. Loved every minute!! Who's ever had a burger in another country (when from the US) that is actually good? Well, we found the place!! Fried pimento cheese, with homemade red pepper jelly. Sweet, and savory....OMG! Yes, please. And that was just my girlfriend's meal. I had a bowl of amazing Sancocho as an appetizer, and Lobster Tempura as my main meal. I could eat this every day, it was so good!! Keep in mind, I am a bit of a food snob. Growing up in a family of chefs sort of gives me a bit of that unfortunately. For desert....even if you are so stuffed to the gills that you want nothing more than your bed...get some and bring it back to your resort. Key Lime Pie. I am not a sweet lover, but this is by far the most amazing thing I have eaten. Get it, bring it back, and indulge. Michael (owner) and Chef Lubin, and staff are amazing. We cannot wait to eat here again, and again!! To the point of I would prefer to not have all inclusive ever again as the food is so subpar to the food like this!

An Absolute Must Visit The hands down, best meal and drinks we had in Punta Cana. We were staying at an all inclusive resort and still visited Castaway’s 5 times. I had the Locos Lobstercargots each time and it was just as amazing each time. The wife loved the Ceviche and the Tropical Salad, but everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. If you’re anywhere close, this is a must visit. Michael, the owner has created and absolute jewel on the beach, like something out of the movies. Chef Lupin is an all star that adds his own unique twist to all the creations that come out of his kitchen. See Alberto at the bar and have him mix up some of his magic.

What every beach should have Great shack of a restaurant. I stayed at an all inclusive resort nearby, but preferred to come here for a couple of meals. Good prices, and laidback environment right on the beach.

Delicious food and friendly staff Castaways boasts an absolutely gorgeous, beautiful setting and delicious food. I had the Tempura Lobster and it was so good and filling. We were offered dessert but were completely stuffed by the lobster and appetizers! The staff also were so friendly and the chef even personally came out to greet us and make sure everything was OK. He was also nice enough to help us with a mix-up we when paying for the food. We were so blown away by his graciousness and his kindness. He really wanted us to enjoy our time there and we did! I would high recommend anyone staying nearby check out this restaurant. It is right on the water and is a great place for a romantic date.

Unbelievable Atmosphere, Even better food! What an incredible place to relax and eat/drink! We stayed at all inclusive resort but still found our way down to eat and hang out at this bar. All the food is cooked perfectly with excellent plating and had several different apps and entrees and all were delicious. The owner and the staff are friendly, courteous, and love to have a good time! The chef felt bad about us waiting on our food so he wrote “sorry” on the plate. Unreal service!

AHMAZZZING Food and Service We love this restaurant! Have eaten many times, calamari, burgers, paella (the best I've ever had), lobster and have ordered lots and lots of drinks 🙂 My favorite drink is always the coco loco, but the mudslides are delish, and their caipirinha is one of the best! Desserts are all homemade and delish, be sure to try the key lime pie! The staff are also incredibly friendly and speak good English.

Beste Restaurant in der Dominikanischen Republik Wir sind einmal quer durch das ganze Land gereist. Castaways war für uns das beste Restaurant in der Dominikanischen Republik. Das ganze Team ist super herzlich, der Service ist perfekt. Die Lage am Strand ist schön. Der Koch kommt aus der Küche und kümmert sich um seine Gäste. Dazu kommt noch einmalig gutes Essen. Der Lobster war der beste, den wir je gegessen haben. Wir waren an einem Tag da und waren so begeistert, dass wir am nächsten Tag unbedingt noch einmal hin gehen mussten. Und wenn wir länger dort gewesen wären, wären wir wahrscheinlich jeden Tag dort hin gegangen. Wir vermissen es jetzt schon.

Ingredients

Ready to learn how to make a mojito? Here’s what you need to do:

  • 5 mint leaves, more for garnish.
  • 2 ounces white rum.
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice.
  • ½ ounce simple syrup.
  • Ice.
  • Club soda or sparkling water.
  • Lime slices, for garnish.

Method

Step 1

Place it in the bottom of a cocktail shaker and use a cocktail muddler to press it until it becomes aromatic. When you’re muddling the mint, your goal isn’t to pulverize it or crush it. Instead, just bruise it slightly to help it release its fragrant oils. This should only take a few taps with your muddler!

Step 2

Add the rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and a handful of ice to the cocktail shaker, and shake it vigorously until the ingredients are completely combined and chilled.

 

Step 3

Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker over a glass filled with ice. Top your glass with soda water, and garnish it with lime slices and more fresh mint sprigs.
